“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).
“Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow person has fulfilled the law. The commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,’ and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law” (Romans 13:8-10).
This happens through living missionally where you live, work and play.
We will love our neighbors who live geographically near in relational and personal ways.
Our church will love the neighborhood we have been planted in through service, fellowship events, and other offerings.
Some of the practical ways we do this is by serving at homeless shelters in Lafayette, doing clothing drives, and are always trying to find other opportunities to bless the city of Lafayette. If you know of any needs in the city, let us know how we can love Lafayette more!
Earhart Elementary School
When we began to hear about how many children and families don’t have enough food to eat, we joined Food Finders Food Bank of Lafayette to provide backpacks full of food to on the weekends to those needy kids.
Every Spring we plant a community garden, when it has produce it’s a “u-pick” garden open to the community! We have partnered with the Lafayette Boys & Girls club, they help weed and maintain the garden and in return are able to use the produce to create meals! We also have a few plots that community members can use to plant their own little gardens! Contact the church office if you are interested in a plot!
